I've found the easiest way to do this is by using an ionic blow dryer and an ionic straightener afterward. Keeps frizz away and adds a nice shine to your hair.

With thick hair it is very important to have a great cut with lots of texturizing. This helps the hair fall into place naturally. Use a conditioner (need not be expensive) and when shampoo and conditioner is rinsed out, rinse your hair with cool water to give it a smooth look.
