i want to dye my hair black but my family will not let me. i also have medium/long length hair and everyone in my family wants me to get it cut. i want it to stay this length but how should i "style"it?

I would highly suggest avoiding dying your hair black! I did and I wish I hadn't. I had to cut my hair to cure the unnnatural look the black dye gave me. Maybe dark brown, but avoid black. I even had people asking me "Why did you die your hair black?" Not fun.
